The best-selling Traxxas T-Maxx® is well known for it's amazing drive anywhere capability and incredibly plush, 8-shock suspension. Tough, fast, and instantly recognizable, T-Maxx has earned the respect of a generation of R/C enthusiasts. The T-Maxx 2.5 adds a higher level of power and refinement with the TRX 2.5R Racing Engine, proven Revo-spec driveline, and the new OptiDrive®-equipped transmission.
The T-Maxx 2.5 is made to handle even more of the off-road pounding that made T-Maxx a legend. It starts with a thicker 4mm 6061-T6 aluminum chassis that reduces flex. The TRX 2.5R is equipped with an oversized finned aluminum cooling head to dissipate more heat under grueling off-road conditions. The entire driveline has been upgraded to Revo® specification with super-duty sealed driveshafts, Revo axle carriers with large rubber sealed bearings, and sealed pivot balls. Seals keep out the dirt for longer component life and smoother running. The differential housings, engine mount, bulkheads, shock towers, and body posts have all been strengthened to help take the abuse we know you will put it through. The all-new low profile 3.8" Maxx™ chevron tires come pre-glued to beautiful satin-finish Split-Spoke wheels. The "shaved" Maxx chevron pattern is the ultimate "muscletire" for an off-road monster.
OptiDrive® Electronic Shift Module
T-Maxx 2.5’s transmission delivers innovative two-speed, forward/reverse operation in an ultra-compact package. The new gearbox design combines the compactness of the T-Maxx platform with the internal transmission components that have been proven reliable on and off the track in the Traxxas Revo. The incredible Torque-Control™ slipper and a powerful 42mm disc brake are carried over from the Revo for superior traction control and braking performance. The OptiDrive electronic shift module uses advanced microprocessor control to sense vehicle speed and optimize forward and reverse shifting. Direction control is performed via a third channel on the transmitter. This revolutionary, patent-pending system allows the transmission to be lighter with fewer moving parts for reduced inertial mass and greater torque handling. OptiDrive provides constant drive engagement for seamless, responsive acceleration.
